I’ve photographed couples for years, and what I’ve come to realise is that small celebrations hold something different. There is a quiet intensity in them — something deeply felt, where nothing distracts you from each other.
What stays with people is rarely the schedule. It’s usually the feeling that they were fully there together: effortless, unposed, honest day.

I think the wedding industry sometimes confuses performance with meaning.
